Generous donations from visitors raise money for local charity
Generous donations from visitors to Santa’s Grotto at Duke of York Square have raised an impressive £5,540 for local charity Chelsea Community Hospital School.
Chelsea Community Hospital School provides education for children and young people while they are in hospital, as well as teaching students who cannot access mainstream education due to their medical or mental health conditions.
The charity was carefully selected by Cadogan and the Kensington & Chelsea Foundation, which works with 300 grassroots charities across the Royal Borough to provide support and help raise funds to benefit the local community.
Visits to the Grotto throughout November and December 2016 were complimentary, but an optional £5 donation was suggested to visitors to help raise money for the local charity.
Janette Steel OBE, Principal, Chelsea Community Hospital School, commented: “We are delighted to receive the generous donation from Cadogan and the Chelsea community, and want to thank all those involved in the fundraising. £5,540 will make a huge difference and enable us to provide up to date IT equipment, art and music benefits to ensure children battling with illnesses don’t get too behind with their education”.
